11:50 pm	a hitchiker I finished playing tennis today at around 1 and instead of driving home i was going to a gun shop to ask a question about the bolt of my newly aquired Yugoslavian SKS assault rifle. Well, i didn't make it to the destination as planned for it was a cold day today and i passed a little white man that was sitting on the curb holding a cardboard sign that said "I-95" and shivering. Well, I-95 is about 40 minutes driving time from where we were and i passed and something told me to turn around and help him out. I turned around and pulled in the parking lot beside him and he didn't really notice me turn because of how overlooked he truly was, until I honked my horn to get his attention. He look and saw me wave him over and he slowly climbed to his feet. He walked over and opened the door in a depressed manner that was mixed with the coldness of his body. He asked if i was headed toward 95 and I said "not really, but I'll take you" and told him that I had to stop and get gas first. At the gas station i asked if he had eaten and if he wanted anything to eat, he declined in a well mannered way saying that he still had some chicken left over. Left over from what? I'm not sure. On the way we had small bits of conversation that was more or less small talk. I found out that he was a very nice man, but he was very reserved and quiet. He was headed from somewhere in north carolina south because he lost his job that he was working at a motel. He said that the person that brought him on into beaufort said that there was good employment here, in which he said he went to different hotels asking if they needed help and they all declined so he figured he would head on south. We talked a little here and a little there about where he was from and where he was going and about hitchhiking. He said usually it took about 3 hrs for someone to stop and give him a ride. To me, that is a long time in the cold wind and the weather. This man didn't even have a jacket, only some sweat shirts that he had on in layers. All his belongings were carried in a small doufle bag that he held in his lap like it was everything he owned. Sadly it was all that he owned. He said he had tried to find a homeless shelter in beaufort but there isn't one there so he had no luck. He did however, find the United Way, but it being a national holiday, it wasn't open, so he couldn't even get a coat. As we approached I-95 I asked if he would like me to take him on into Savannah Ga. He said that's where he would like to go if it wasn't much of a problem. From there it was only about 20 more miles so I figured "why not?" instead of making him walk further in the cold than he had to. I didn't have anything really planned for the day so I wasn't losing out on anything by helping someone. As we traveled down 95 I noticed that he had fallen asleep and he looked so dreary and tired, yet almost temporarily peaceful. As we approached Savannah he asked if we could go to where there were a lot of hotels so that he could try finding a temporary job, maybe one allowing him to stay in a room there. We stopped at one of the hotels on the right side of the road and it was one of the cheaper hotels which seemed to give him a little bit of hope as there were about 7 motels in that area. This was when I asked, "how much money do you have?" and he said "not very much at all" in a very disheartened voice that i interpreted that he was thinking that i was going to ask him for money for taking him, but instead i asked "would you like me to get you a room here?" and hope and joy shot into his eyes and voice as he responded "would you do that for me??" I said, "yeah, I will." We went in and I told them I wanted a room for one and said it was for "him." The man at the desk, understandingly, filled out the card with my information and let me pay for it and let me sign since I wouldn't be there to sign the next day. I took the "cross in my pocket" ( a metal cross that has a card with it and a poem about trusting in God and has the sinner's prayer on the back) out of my wallet and gave it to him, since I had an extra one in my truck. He gladly accepted and then got the room key and we walked to his room. We then walked back to my truck to get him 2 packs of "hothands" that i had extra for his traveling outdoors. This is when we parted and He said "Good Bless You" and "good luck" as I said the same things to him. Then i left. Sure I wonder why he was homeless or jobless. I wonder all kinds of things, but what was in my mind was "what would Jesus Do?" and if that was me, who would help me out? Would anyone stop to help me out if I was walking in the cold? I learned a lot of things today, maybe someone will read this and learn something as well. Was I scared of being hurt? I thought about it, but I knew that God had his hand on me. That's all that I need to be safe. Hopefully he will find a job. If he doesn't there, maybe somewhere else. We all need 2nd chances, I wonder where his will begin... or will the rest of his life be like that? I'll never know. (Comment on this)

9:55 pm	Me and you that read this have survived this day...many did not. My prayers go out to those families...and i pray for my friends and family. "Freedom has been attacked today"...we shall defend it...May America stay strong and stare the enemy in the face and show them we can make it through the tests... We will rise to fight the enemy! 11:15 am	Bonjour everyone. My phone line is still skrewed up. My Mom is getting worse and worse w/ her liver cuz hepititus C. My dad has liver problems too from where he was alcoholic before he got saved, he also has a 99%chance of haveing bladder cancer which can kill him within a month. His diabetes is running out of control..Everything is going wrong now days....Pray for them please.
